Yann Collette
After a stint at the Rue Blanche, Yann Collette created in 1978 with the stage director Pierre Pradinas the theatre du Chapeau Rouge in Avignon. A year later, he made his film debut in The Winner.
His physique shifted, his glass eye and bald head are used to wonder the universe of Enki Bilal, with whom he collaborates in 1989, Bunker Palace Hotel, and then in 1996 Tykho Moon. This "mouth" of the French cinema excels in a supporting role to the dark, characters, devious and violent (The House murdered and The Hunchback), or on the margins of society in Vincent Ravalec (Song of the scum, The Wonderful odyssey of the idiot slide). This did not prevent him from engaging willingly with the comedy, and composed for Bernie Bonvoisin a tasty character of a cop in The Demons of Jesus.
In 1995, he shot Marie-Louise or the leave, a light comedy with Kate Beckinsale, in which he played three roles (including a nun). But the one that has started in the theatre rotates with directors who bring him closer to his work on the boards : preparing long, repeats... This is the case with Philippe Garrel (I hear more of the guitar), or even Jacques Rivette (Joan the Maid, prisons).
