Tom Schilling
Schilling grew up in the center of Berlin as the son of two cartographers. As a six year old he was brought by his mother to a first audition, he appeared in an East German Film. He later attended the John-Lennon-Gymnasium. The Director Thomas Heise looked in Schilling's school children, should occur in the theatre In the shadow of the moon, the then-twelve-year-old completed a Casting and was immediately engaged for the piece. At the Berliner Ensemble, he performed then in the next four years, also in other pieces. Werner Schroeter cast him in Monsieur Verdoux, Carmen Maja Antoni in The ginger pot, B. K. Tragelehn in The life of Galilei, as well as Stephan Loose in Kleist's Prince of Homburg. Originally he wanted to study painting, but stopped at the acting.
