Roger Blin

The son of a doctor, he completed graduate studies that lead up to a bachelor of arts. It turns very soon to the theatre, and also made some incursions into the drawing, and journalism. It collaborates in the Review of The cinémacomme film critic. Antonin Artaud the start and at the theatre. A member of the Group October, he also worked with Jean-Louis Barrault. In 1949, he has directed the théâtre de la Gaîté-Montparnasse. Designer secret, he has produced numerous works on paper. The Avignon Festival has paid tribute to this aspect of his work in 1983 with a major exhibition designed by Alin Avila and Michele Miller. In August 1984, a few months after his death, the foundation of a theatre in his name is dedicated to him, based in Coulon in deux-Sèvres.
