Pierre Mondy was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1925. His father is the director of the externat Saint-Joseph, her mother is the housekeeper. He made his secondary studies during the War at the lycée Lapérouse in Albi until obtaining his bachelor's degree. After the course Simon in which he enrolled in 1946, he began as an understudy in the theatre in 1948 before getting a small role in the film Rendez-vous in July (1949).
