Lars Mikkelsen attended from 1991 to 1995, the state theatre school in Copenhagen. After that, he received Engagements at various Danish theatres, including Mephisto, the Royal theatre in Copenhagen, or at Østre-Gasværk theatre, where he played Othello.
In Parallel to his theatre career in the mid-1990s came from the middle in the Danish Film - and TV productions in appearance. He was, among other things, in the popular television series, Eder Koppen (2000) and Nikolaj og Julie (2003), while he acted in the Emmy-winning series Unit One – The specialists (2002) on the side of his brother. With him, he was also in Lotte Svendsen's dead short film Café Hector (1996), or Ole Christian Madsens feature film production days of wrath (2008) in front of the camera. His most successful film role, he played again directed by Ole Christian Madsen in his dogma film Kira (2001).
