Karol Machata

Karol Machata was born into a working-class family in Malacky. As dvanásťročný he started in radio and he ochotníckemu theatre. Finally, he preferred before the ekonómiou just drama. In the years 1948 - 1950 he studied acting at the State conservatory in Bratislava and in 1952 -1953 he worked in the Armádnom theatre in Martin.

Karol Machata is among the most significant representatives of Slovak drama of the post-war generation. The first task depicted by the theatrical boards in Martin. He introduced himself in the staging of Sládkovičovej Maríny (1948), Assassination (character member of a group of bombers to Heydricha, 1949), trying to play a character Fortinbrasa in Shakespearovom Hamletovi (1950). Its title character Geľa Sebechlebského (1952), and Janosik (1953) zožali a sweeping success. A further forty-five years he was a member of Činohry of the Slovak national theatre in Bratislava, he worked in it in the years 1953 - 1998.
