Erik Clausen
Erik Clausen (born 7. march 1942) is a Danish actor, director and screenwriter and a significant commentator of the left.
Clausen is a trained painter and is now a painter and film director. In the 1960s he was dissatisfied with the established art galleries and began exhibiting at the street together with Leif Sylvester Petersen. It led to the gadecirkus and showbiz in the whole. Clausen & Petersen, makkerparet call themselves, were in the last half of the 1970s a part of the Red Mother's Rock Circus. Clausen was formerly active in the Danish Communist Party, but later left the party with regard to the topstyringen: "Here
they had a relation to the criticism which the nun had to the sailor. In
rather than to learn from the best in the eurokommunismen operated
you SUPPORTED so strongly with a false loyalitetsbegreb, that the party totally
lost its credibility. Even I signed myself out, and others preferred to
to be thrown out."[1] Life as a showman and artist was immortalized in the autobiographical film the Circus Casablanca.
